According to Drought.gov, as of April 23rd, 100% of Delta County is now in the exceptional drought condition category. All indications say drought conditions will only get worse.
The Town of Orchard City Board of Trustees has voted unanimously to implement mandatory water restrictions. These restrictions are intended to regulate water use and to promote the conservation of Town's water resources, prevent waste, and to ensure an adequate, consistent supply of water for human consumption and fire suppression. All users of the Town’s water are hereby put on notice that stronger restrictions may be put into effect if these measures prove insufficient. Notice of this declaration will be posted at Town Hall, in the Delta County Independent, the High Country Shopper and mailed by U.S. Postal Service. All pipeline companies will be properly notified through their named point of contact person per their contract agreement.
