The park began in 1993 by a large group of volunteers who had a “Master Park Plan” and a dream. By 1996, with the assistance of grant monies, the baseball and softball portion of the park was completed. With funds acquired from the Great Outdoors Colorado and matching Town funds our Orchard City Town Park was completed in 2011.

Orchard City Town Park ball fields are called Field of Dreams. These ball fields and the Town Park belong to and are maintained by the Town of Orchard City, separate from Surface Creek Valley Field of Dreams, Inc. (SCVFOD), a youth sports organization.

SCVFOD, Inc. is a 501(3C) not for profit organization in charge of youth sporting events in the Surface Creek Valley area. SCVFOD, Inc schedules and maintains the Softball, Baseball, Basketball, Soccer and Football youth programs in the Surface Creek area.
